Overview
Perry Rhodan is a classic point-and-click adventure revolving around the widely known pulp novel series of the same name, which has also spawned hundreds of novels, novellas, and short stories. This game is thus peppered with numerous hints to the existing story universe.
As often is the case, the player initially knows little about the circumstances they find themselves in and must gradually uncover the truth. To do so, they explore numerous scenes, search for items, converse with humans, aliens, and robots, and receive valuable clues that gradually contribute to solving the sometimes quite challenging puzzles. Over time, the story unfolds into a larger narrative that is likely to captivate not only fans of Perry Rhodan.
Unfortunately, I was unable to complete the game, but admittedly, many point-and-click adventures with moderate difficulty pose too high demands for me. This may be related to my many failed attempts to solve the age-old classic Maniac Mansion, or my general mental entanglement when it comes to overly obvious solutions. After navigating through the genre’s sometimes highly absurd puzzles, the most logical path in any other point-and-click adventure does not always turn out to be the right one. This is not devoid of a certain comedy, but it also doesn’t make Perry Rhodan any easier.
The game graphics are functional, but that does not mean they are too simply designed. The modern appearance of Perry Rhodan hardly reaches the dense graphical atmosphere of highlights like Beneath a Steel Sky or the 8-bit era smash hit Zack McKracken, yet for fans of challenging puzzles, it is definitely worth a closer look.
Keyboard
Can only be played with both keyboard AND mouse.
The main menu can only be accessed via the ESC key.
During the game, words, numbers, or sentences must be entered (e.g., player name).
Mouse
Can be controlled with the mouse only.
The mouse cursor is confined to the game window or fullscreen and cannot be moved out.
Clicking on the game environment moves the player character to the corresponding location (click to move).
Requires left-click.

Display
Selection of various resolutions is possible directly in the options.
To start the game in fullscreen or windowed mode, you can append the modifiers -fullscreen or -windowed to the properties of the desktop shortcut and thereby set the fullscreen or windowed mode.

Sounds are not crucial for the game.
Sounds are NOT visually represented.
The direction from which a sound comes is NOT visualized.
Subtitles
The subtitle font is very small.
